The land

A long, narrow strip of about 7,000 m² — from the road at the front to the railway at the back.

At the road end stands the cottage with a garden around it. Behind that lies a large wild meadow, full of life. Further along, a food forest in the making. Right at the back, a young forest that runs to the railway and joins a larger public path — part of the Marskramerpad long-distance route.

The forest

Misty forest on the land

The young forest at the back connects to the wider woodland around Klarenbeek. Birds, squirrels, sometimes a roe deer. In autumn it turns deep orange and brown.

Just beyond the land

50 m away lies the medieval Bandijk dyke and an old river pool left by the IJssel. The place sits in the middle of a region where country-estate woodland, the river IJssel and the edge of the Veluwe all come together.
